Anthony Thomas Caferro values work and enjoys cultivating forward motion and growth through change, challenge and progress in his community — of our one Earth. Born 1977 in Buffalo’s Mercy Hospital, he founded Slow Roll Buffalo after his friend (and Slow Roll Detroit founder) Jason Hall visited Buffalo and remarked at the two cities’ similarities. Anthony holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from University at Buffalo. In 1997, he established the longstanding independent record label Deep Thinka Records, and in 2005 he started Galileo Properties, a real estate company dedicated to fair and equitable landlord/tenant relationships in Western New York. After more than a decade of entrepreneurial endeavors, Anthony began a pursuit of empowering his community through civil and charitable service. He currently works as a New York State Professional Firefighter in IAFF 3166 for the City of Lackawanna and also serves on the board of Hostel Buffalo-Niagara. In his downtime, Anthony undertakes long-distance cross-country bicycle rides and enjoys dogs, coffee, the constitution and long walks off short piers.

Freda is a transplant from Syracuse, coming to Buffalo for college at Buff State, where her love of all things Buffalo began and her 3-speed Huffy got her around town. Fast forward through a career as a librarian, an executive assistant and family life that always included bike-riding, Freda first rode with Slow Roll on Labor Day 2015. Joining Squad in 2016, Freda was on Sweep Teams for several years and most recently on a Cork Team. In keeping with Slow Roll’s dedication to serving the Buffalo community, Freda participated in a group of Squad members that built and set up several Little Libraries in Buffalo between 2018 and 2019. Since then, Freda has been restocking the libraries and, with assistance gratefully provided by tool-handy Squad alumni, maintaining those Little Libraries. Freda joined the Board as a non-voting “note-taker” in 2021.

India Walton was born, raised and educated in Buffalo. She first got involved in community work by fighting alongside her mother against mandatory minimums as an adolescent in the mid to late-1990s. After becoming a registered nurse, she fought for workers and women’s reproductive rights as a union member leader. As a resident of the Fruit Belt neighborhood, and after graduating Open Buffalo’s inaugural class of Emerging Leaders in 2015, she worked with her Fruit Belt family to win the first residential parking permit system and incorporate the first community-controlled land trust in the city of Buffalo. India joined Open Buffalo in 2017 as a community organizer for its Justice and Opportunity campaigns, focusing on criminal justice and police reform. Currently, India is the founding Executive Director of FB Community Land Trust, assuring that housing in Buffalo’s historic Fruit Belt neighborhood will be affordable for generations to come.

Denise Saia Goller is currently the Squad Board Representative for our 2024 season. She has been volunteering with Slow Roll for 6 years now and helps lead the team on Slow Roll Monday Community Night ride nights. She’s a proud Mom of 2 sons, one in college, the other currently homeschooled. She also runs a side business, Casa di Biscotti, where she bakes pies, cakes, and cookies for Slow Roll Buffalo events, plus friends and family. Rashaad Holley was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. He is a graduate of the Olmsted Schools, Hutch Tech H.S., the University at Buffalo, and Buffalo State. After obtaining a BS in Business Administration from UB he transitioned into studying Apparel Design. His various experiences throughout the world prompted him to devote himself to cultivating design talent from his hometown. He has gone on to facilitate programming with several organizations in Western New York and contribute to the journey of hundreds of learners wishing to embark on a creative experience.
Rashaad borrowed a friend's bike that had been dormant in their studio space during the summer of 2022. A couple spins got him hooked on what became his "health hobby". His first Slow Roll ride was one dedicated to Project Mona's House, where he found an affinity to the community and cause. Rashaad is now an all-seasons rider and advocate for diversity in our local biking community.

I'm a Youth Services Librarian currently working at the Lancaster Public Library. When I'm not ordering new library materials, planning programs, or conducting story-times you can catch me bike riding around town! I also enjoy exploring new cookbooks and cooking up a new recipe to try. It may be great or not and that's the adventure! Enjoy the ride!
