Raise a Glass and Ride

Flying Bison Brewery 840 Seneca St., Buffalo

Saturday's sunny forecast calls for more community bike rides! Usually at the end of October, Slow Roll salutes our squad and riders for the past six months of weekly rides and hibernates a bit before starting our *Snow* Roll wintertime rides. This year, we're keeping it 2020 and rolling with the changes, riding every Saturday in November and continuing to raise funds for our new nonprofit organization, starting with a "Raise a Glass and Ride" this Saturday, November 7th, hosted by Flying Bison Brewing Company. While the 2pm ride is free and open - see the event banner above for pandemic-induced changes to our rides - we'll be outside in the big tent starting at noon selling Slow Roll pint glasses plus a fill of Flying Bison brew for a $20 donation, while supplies last. Join us for the ride or just to raise a glass, help Slow Roll keep providing free and inclusive community bike rides in 2021 and beyond! We also encourage everyone to join GObike Buffalo's 9th annual Cranksgiving 2020 benefiting Buffalo Food Not Bombs, which starts at 11am at Hostel Buffalo-Niagara - plenty of time to do both! We'll include the hostel on our route for [...]

Resurgence Brewing Co. 1250 Niagara St, Buffalo

*NOTES* - 6pm start from Resurgence Brewing Company's original *Niagara Street* location.   On the 195th anniversary of the world-changing opening of the Erie Canal in downtown Buffalo, our Erie Canal Ride will start along the old canal at the Niagara Street home of Resurgence Brewing Company, roll past the Buffalo Maritime Center (BMC) and Black Rock Canal Park before riding down to Canalside for a special tour of BMC's amazing new Longshed, a 10-mile ride in all.   Thanks to our presenting partner Independent Health for continued support of Slow Roll Buffalo since 2015.   With ongoing guidance from local and state public health leaders to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Slow Roll Buffalo organizers have been carefully considering ways to resume community bike rides while maintaining some semblance of Slow Roll’s inclusive spirit. Having prepared a plan that meets or exceeds all requirements, the weekly ride presented in partnership with Independent Health has resumed, free and open to all.   Reopening Slow Roll requires working within the current Phase 4 of “New York Forward” state mandate, including a limit on public gatherings to a maximum of 50 people, along with CDC guidelines for events to “consider ways [...]
