Founded in Detroit, Slow Roll is a social group bicycle ride that meets every Monday night and has expanded into a Global network of community rides. Slow Roll Buffalo began in 2014 as a free and inclusive way to bring people from all walks of life together and reconnect our community, and has now become by far the largest offshoot in the global Slow Roll network where thousands have been gathering in Detroit on Monday nights for many years. Other Slow Roll cities include Cleveland, Chicago, Minneapolis, Washington, D.C, Berlin & Stockholm.
Our presenting partner, Independent Health, and many other generous community partners help to keep Slow Roll Buffalo free for all, and we are now an affiliated program of GObike Buffalo, an advocacy organization that champions bicycling as a means to lift our city’s residents. Each week we meet at different venues and take a unique route throughout the city. Slow Roll is for everyone; all ages and experience levels are welcome. Both the leisurely pace and dedicated squad of volunteers enable a safe and social scene in which riders ages 4 to 94 enjoy the sights and sounds around the streets of Buffalo, meeting community stakeholders at multiple stops and ultimately ending at new and/or lesser-known destinations. Minors under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian and must be able to ride WITHOUT training wheels.
Slow Roll is free for all; a one-time annual registration is required either online or onsite before the ride.
