Much More Than Just A Bike Ride…

Good morning! Tis’ the season of giving and today’s the day known as Giving Tuesday. I’m sure by now many of us are well aware that this is the time of year that fundraising is ramped up by every nonprofit on the planet. But did you also know that Slow Roll Buffalo is more than just a bike ride? Originally established in Detroit and then founded here in Buffalo (and in Cleveland) Slow Roll was geared as a movement to connect rust belt communities from the start. We believe in a truly better Buffalo for all through inclusion, awareness, discussion and collaboration; this is at the core of the educational purpose of our nascent 501c3, Wheel B Herd. Slow Roll Buffalo has grown leaps and bounds since we started riding in 2014. We’ve become adept at bringing partners to the table, initiating overdue conversations, conducting large scale as well as smaller curated rides and rocking a community-connecting afterparty. Who’s Got a Ticket To Roll?

New this year: Slow Roll Buffalo's Ticket To Roll A monthly series of ticketed fundraiser rides! Each with its own theme and limited capacity, these ticketed rides will help keep Slow Roll Mondays and our weekend Pedal Parties free and open to all.   May 23: Spring Roll Spots are still available for the first in our Ticket to Roll series of monthly fundraiser rides! The Spring Roll is a 22-mile roundtrip ride focused on Buffalo's Asian-American communities past and present, concluding with food and drinks. Purchase of a ticket includes guided ride, Sun Cuisine spring rolls, Sakura gin from Lockhouse Distillery, a commemorative "Ticket To Roll" T-Shirt and more. A fully involved house fire of a guided ride passing Buffalo Fire stations across the city. Meet at Big Ditch Brewing Company

This coming Monday, May 3rd, we’ll start a new year of free and inclusive community bike rides with our Season-Opening Ride from one of our favorite host venues, Big Ditch Brewing Company (55 E. Huron St., downtown). We’ve had many rides from Big Ditch going back to their opening in 2015, when the staff called us the “Steam Roll” for essentially training them to handle max capacity. […]
