On this Monday nearest to Independence Day, we’re rolling from the corner of Michigan Avenue and East Ferry Street, where thanks to the Albright-Knox Art Gallery there are 28 local and national civil rights leaders honored in murals at the northern entrance into the Michigan Street African American Heritage Corridor.

This Monday’s 10-mile roundtrip route includes stops in Kingsley and on the edge of the aforementioned corridor, where we’ll learn from and about Freedom Wall honorees; neighborhoods on this route include Cold Springs, Johnson, Emslie, Hydraulics, Valley, First Ward, Copper Town and Masten Park along major streets East Ferry, Michigan, Humboldt, Best, Broadway, Seneca and South Park.

Buffalocal afterparty at The Freedom Wall will include fellowship, food from Imperial Pizza, Mad Sauces Food Truck, Totally Edible and The Cheesy Chick; drinks from Big Ditch Brewing Company, Community Beer Works, Resurgence Brewing Company, Flying Bison Brewing Company, Chateau Buffalo, Ashker’s Juice Bar, Snowy Owl Kombucha and Libby’s Lemonade; and music from DJ Indeed.
