Roll with The Buffalo AKG Art Museum
Our free and inclusive Public Art Ride this coming Monday, October 17th, hosted by Adam Mickiewicz Library & Dramatic Circle aka Mickie's (612 Fillmore Avenue, rolling at 6pm sharp), is presented in partnership with the Buffalo AKG Art Museum - formerly known as Albright-Knox Art Gallery - which has dramatically expanded its public art initiative around Buffalo in recent years, including right across from Mickie's and in many murals along our route. While our route will also feature public art including murals beyond those produced by AKG - look for Al Cohen's Bakery and Groove Lounge on Broadway for examples, as well as sculptures, neighborhood welcome signs and landscape architecture - we turn to Claudia Carballada, Buffalo AKG's Manager of Community Engagement, to learn more about their ever-expanding public art initiative.
