Happy Monday, Slow Rollers, gorgeous day for our free and inclusive Grant Streetscape Ride, starting at 6:30pm sharp from Buffalo State College’s Rockwell Road side of the Richardson Olmsted Campus! Special thanks to the folks at Buff State for going out of their way to welcome us – see the photo below for our starting spot, the Richardson Olmsted barn by the corner of Rockwell and Rees, which is surrounded by open parking for all arriving by motor vehicle.
Tonight’s 10-mile roundtrip route includes stops in Black Rock and Military; neighborhoods on this route include Forest and Grant-Ferry along major streets Grant, Ferry, Forest, Tonawanda, Amherst, Military, Hertel and Elmwood.
Tonight’s ride is named for the just-announced Grant Street revitalization project spurred by state funding, and boosted by a grant from The John R. Oishei Foundation along with investment from Niagara District Council Member David Rivera for GObike Buffalo and Preservation Buffalo Niagara to provide an infrastructure and traffic analysis, an analysis of commercial and community assets as well as provide technical assistance for property owners.
Buffalocal afterparty beside the barn on the Richardson Olmsted Campus will include fellowship; food from Imperial Pizza, Ms Judi’s, Totally Edible, Souped Up and Sweet Melody’s; drinks from Buffalocal brews, Chateau Buffalo wines, Snowy Owl Kombucha, Libby’s Lemonade Stand, Ashker’s and more; and music from DJ Muah.
One-time annual ride registration here online or onsite.
All riders be sure to check your ABCs – Air-Brakes-Chain – and see our SAG crew (Support and Gear) for any pre-ride basic maintenance.
