A new partnership between local organizations GObike Buffalo and Teen Treks will combine missions to give teenagers the chance to discover the excitement and fun of long-distance bike touring by first participating in community rides in Buffalo.
Over the course of eight rides in Buffalo presented by GObike – beginning with Slow Roll Buffalo’s Season-Opening Ride on Monday, May 6th; including GObike’s sixth annual SkyRide on Sunday, May 19th; and culminating with Slow Roll’s Juneteenth Ride on Monday, June 17th – participants who are entering grades 7-9 in the upcoming school year can enter to win a free “First Time Explorer Bike Trek,” a $2,395 value.
In addition, all teenage participants in Slow Rolls and SkyRide will earn a $500 discount off of the listed price of any of the 40+ trips offered by Teen Treks during the 2019 season, by checking in at the Teen Treks table before or after the ride.
“Whether exploring the city on Slow Roll or the open road with Teen Treks, the sense of adventure is what makes bicycle travel special, and that’s why we’re excited to bring this opportunity to teens,” said Teen Treks owner and Slow Roll Squad member Tyler Madell. “These become memories that last a lifetime, and our free trip raffle and discount to Slow Rolling families aims to turn more teens into lifelong bicyclists.”
Now entering its 19th summer of programming, Teen Treks gives teenagers the chance to discover the excitement and fun of bike touring with a bunch of like-minded people, seeing beautiful natural landscapes and world-class cities while gaining independence and travel skills.
