Happy Monday, Slow Rollers, another day of dark clouds destined to pass in time for our free and inclusive Lower West Side Ride!
Tonight we debut at the new Community Beer Works brewery at the corner of 7th and Jersey Streets (520 7th Street, 6pm sharp start), which will open at 3pm for the kickoff of their weekday happy hour including food and drink specials.
Our 10-mile roundtrip route includes one incline between neighborhoods Lower West Side and downtown along major streets Niagara, Delaware and Porter, guided by our trained squad of more than 100 volunteers. Two “mass-up” stops allow for regrouping while community leaders inform riders of history, events and issues in the immediate area, before we return to CBW for an afterparty with fellowship, food, drinks and music by DJ Milk.
For those driving to the ride – please respect our neighbors by avoiding parking on residential streets, instead park only in Front or Lasalle Parks.
All riders be sure to check your ABCs – Air-Brakes-Chain – and see our SAG crew (Support and Gear) for any pre-ride basic maintenance.
See below for the Slow Roll Code of Conduct and a pre-ride checklist, get on your bikes and join us!
